Village Clerk's Office

The Village Clerk is responsible for maintaining custody of the Village seal, books, records and papers. The Clerk is the official clerk of the Board of Trustees, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals and is responsible for preparing agendas and maintaining an indexed compilation of minutes from the three Boards. The Clerk’s Office also maintains a record of all local laws. The Office of the Village Clerk is the primary point of contact when telephoning or when coming into Village Hall.

The Village Clerk is responsible for responding to requests for access to public records. Pursuant to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law, the Village charges $0.25 per page for copying of public records.

Garage Sale Permit

Permits are required for all garage sales within the Village. Residents can obtain a permit by submitting a Garage Sale Permit application along with the $3.00 application fee. Please note, residents are limited to two (2) garage sales per year.

Marriage Ceremonies

Marriages can be officiated at Town Hall by the Mayor or Judge. Please call (631) 475-4300 ext. 110 to schedule your ceremony. Please note, the Village Clerk must receive your marriage license and $100 cash three days prior to the ceremony. Qualified applicants can obtain a New York State Marriage License at their local township.


Resident Parking

The Village of Patchogue issues yearly parking permits to all Village residents. Complimentary Parking Permits can be obtained by submitting the Resident Parking application. Residents must submit a copy of their car registration in addition to a first class piece of mail if the registration does not show Village address. Resident Parking permits can be used for the back municipal parking lots and the permitted lot of the Railroad Station only. Permits are not valid on Main Street, South Ocean Avenue, Railroad Avenue and Havens. Residents must also follow all street sign rules.

Non-Resident Parking Permit

Non-resident parking permits can be obtained by submitting a Non-Resident Parking Application and a copy of the car registration. The fee for each parking pass is $150 for the year and is pro-rated every month after. Non-resident permits can be used for the back municipal parking lots and the permitted lot of the Railroad Station only. Taxi Company Application

Taxi Owner Licenses must be renewed each year in order to operate within the Village. All required documents, including the application and owner verification form, must be submitted for renewal no later than December 31st.

All taxi drivers must renew their Taxi License by submitting an application and all required documents each year. Please note, there is a $100 licensing fee which will be collected upon approval. All fees will be waived for Veterans who submit a copy of their DD-214 form.
