Starting October 15, 2007:
If you live South of Montauk Highway, your household garbage pickup is being changed to Monday-Thursday.
If you live North of Montauk Highway, your household garbage pickup is being changed to Tuesday-Friday.

STORM WATER RUNOFF INFORMATION

The US Environmental Protection Agency has instituted new regulations with regard to the handling of storm water runoff.  The following links will take you to various sites that provide information on both the regulations and ways which you can help to keep the waterways located within the Village of Patchogue and elsewhere safe from polluted storm water runoff:

2008 Recycling Schedule

Curb Can/Paper Products
Pick-up Day: Alternating Wednesday
No Collections on the following Holidays:

Spring Clean-up:
 Not available-Residents may drop off bulk items,
 leaves or brush during April at no charge at the recycling center
Fall Clean-up:
 Not available-Residents may drop off bulk items,
leaves or brush during September at no charge at the  recycling center

NOTE:  Recycling Center open every other Saturday and Sunday ONLY – 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  White goods pick-up by appointment only (631) 475-2585

                Leaves must be placed in paper bags and brought to curb except from October 15 to December 21.  During that period, the Village will pick-up unbagged leaves brought out to the curb.  FREE DROP=OFF Saturday & Sunday during April and September.


Regular Refuse & Yard Waste

Currently, sanitation pick-up for household garbage is two (2) times per week. Garbage cans must have close fitting, (water tight), covers and durable handles.  Compliance is mandatory and requirements are to be met by February 1, 2002.
Red cans and newspapers are to be brought curbside on alternate Wednesdays for pick-up.** Newspaper and cardboard must be securely bundled or tied, but not placed in plastic bags.
All other refuse
is handled in the following manner:
White goods:
stoves, washers, etc. are picked up on Wednesdays by appointment only. These items are to be placed curbside on the Tuesday night prior to the scheduled appointment.  Appointments can be made by calling 475-2585 between 7:00am and 3:30pm.
CHRISTMAS TREES:  Can be left for pick-up from thru January 21 at no extra charge.
Branches six (6) inches in diameter or less, cut into three (3) foot lengths, bundled and brought curbside will be picked-up on your 2nd refuse collection day.
** Larger branches will be picked-up by appointment only and are to be brought curbside.  Appointments can be made by calling 475-2585 between 7:00 am and 3:30pm.
Rubbish and bulk items can be brought to our Recycle Center/D.P.W. Yard, located at 216 Waverly Avenue – across from US 1 Auto Parts, on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.  This service is for Village Residents Only.
** Construction material and hazardous waste are not accepted by the Village and must be taken to the Brookhaven Town Landfill.
Fees for the Recycle Center are:
Cars                                                     $2.00
Vans, SUVs, Station Wagons           10.00 
Trucks, 3/4 ton or under & trailers     15.00
